|The Jamaica Hat|
Monday, 17 September 2012
Nicknamed "The Jamaica Hat" by my hubby, this hat does remind me of the Caribbean both in shape and colour :) I feel like I should have dreadlocks and be playing the steel drums when I wear it! Shortly after I knitted it I shaved off all my hair, so I needed something to cover my head with and keep me warm. Good timing, hey! Since then I wear it around the house in winter all the time, and it's become my favourite hat to put over my hair when I'm doing a henna treatment (over the plastic wrap, that is ;) The picture below is obviously before I shaved my hair off - after the shave it was about 1cm long. It started out as an experimental hat, but I think it turned out pretty well, don't you? :)

Here's a pattern for a hat I made up - I'm starting to build up quite a collection of hats these days! Good for keeping your head warm in winter, or for hiding a bad hair day. I'm not sure if you'd call this hat a slouch hat or a beret, so feel free to make up your own mind.
